Most gemstones are minerals and most minerals are crystals (having a crystalline atomic structure).
Often, you will see “beauty” as a required characteristic for a mineral or rock to qualify as a gemstone. We believe they are all beautiful, with distinct personalities + uniquenesses all their own.
